Rational Number Line Activity





The students were given rational numbers (any number that can be turned into a fraction, decimal or percentage) and asked to place them on a number line. They were then to write a short explaination of why their rational number belongs in the space they chose.

  1. A value that represents a quantity along a continuous line known as real numbers. It includes all the rational numbers, such as the integer −5 and the fraction 4/3, and all the irrational numbers such as √2 (1.41421356... the square root of two, an irrational algebraic number) and π (3.14159265..., a transcendental number).
